Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Acosta begs President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to declare “State of Emergency”, as the issue continues on the Dengvaxia vaccine that links to the death of 8 children who received the anti-dengue vaccine according to the forensic examination’s conducted by the PAO Forensic Team.

“Pangulong Duterte, magdeklara na po kayo ng state of emergency para sa mga batang ito, habulin po natin para po maalagaan ang mga batang ito. (President Duterte, please declare “State of Emergency” for these children, so we can take care of them)” Acosta said.

PAO and Volunteer Against Crime and Corruption(VACC) has submitted their request to the Depart of Health (DOH) to ask for the master list of the 800,000 children who were vaccinated for Dengvaxia.

In response to their request, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that the list can’t be disclosed as stated and protected by the “Data Privacy Act of 2012”.

“For this reason, the Department of Health cannot issue a copy of list to a third person, entity or organization” Duque said in a letter.

Last year, Sanofi Pasteur, the pharmaceutical company behind Dengvaxia, admitted that the vaccine may increase the risk of severe dengue among those not previously exposed to the virus.
