Because of the State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte, several militant leaders came back to the spotlight as they’re the one who leads the protest against the administration.
One of the notable militant leaders, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) Secretary General Renato Reyes is also there, showing his anti-corruption stance.
However, a netizen was not convinced that Reyes is an anti-corrupt advocate, because he claimed that he witnessed how corrupt the Secretary-General of BAYAN is.
According to Netizen Gabriel Ilano, he met Renato Reyes as his client in a tech shop in Gilmore, Quezon City.
He claimed that Reyes bought a projector worth 15,000 pesos, the said device is known for being useful during demonstrations.
However, Ilano was shocked when Reyes asked him to mark up the projector from 15,000 to 30,000 because of still an undisclosed reason.
“real talk muna tayo.. etong ******* to galit sa kurap!! pero wag ka.. client ko to sa gilmore.. halagang 15k na projector gustong ipa-mark up saken ng 30k..” Gabriel Illano said in his Facebook post.
Some of his friends speculated that Reyes wants the projector to be marked up to a higher price so he can have profited from it.
“May budget kickback na ung 15k gusto ipa 30k e di wow.” Netizen Bibe Rabin said.
As of writing, Reyes is not yet speaking on the accusation of Gabriel Ilano.
We are also trying to contact Mr. Ilano, but it seems that his Facebook account was deactivated.
Since the past, Reyes has been accused by some netizens of earning money through organizing a rally.
However, the wife of the renowned activists insisted that her husband didn’t earn any money from his advocacy.
Beng Rivera-Reyes wrote on her Facebook post.
In his Twitter post, Reyes also challenged the people who accused him of earning money through rally to show a strong evidence.
Kita-kits sa United People’s SONA.” Reyes tweeted.
